 BAKRA EID SPECIAL

Beef Shami Kebab:



Ingredients:

- 500 grams beef, boneless

- 1 cup chana dal (yellow lentils), soaked for 2 hours

- 1 large onion, chopped

- 4-5 cloves garlic, chopped

- 1 inch piece ginger, chopped

- 2-3 green chilies, chopped

- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- 1 tsp coriander seeds

- 1 tsp garam masala powder

- 1 tsp red chili powder

- 1 tsp turmeric powder

- Salt to taste

- 1 tsp lemon juice

- Handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped

- Oil for frying


Instructions:


1. Wash the beef and cut it into small pieces. In a pressure cooker, add the beef, soaked chana dal, onion, ginger, and garlic. Add enough water to cover the ingredients and pressure cook for 15-20 minutes or until the beef and dal are tender.


2. Once the beef and dal have cooked, strain the excess water and let the mixture cool.


3. In a blender, add the cooled beef and dal mixture, green chilies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garam masala powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice, and fresh coriander leaves. Blend everything together until you get a smooth mixture.


4. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into patties or kebabs.


5. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the kebabs until they are golden brown on both sides.


6. Once the kebabs are done, serve them hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
